Alice & Shelly

On September 19th, my dear friend Alice and her lovely girlfriend, Shelly made it official. I love this picture. I remember wondering if Alice was gonna make it through without crying.
She did great.

I think both Alice & Shelly will like this one.

The cake. My oh my this cake! Alice & Shelly asked me to make this as an addition to their wedding cake. I met with Alice at Atkinson Park (I remember it as Bethel Mill) and we walked to this great little spot.
She then shared why this place was so special...it was where she & Shelly first met! They each had a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee: Alice had a medium, and Shelly had a large. They sat on their "own" benches...and thats how it all began! So I sketched out the scene and took a few photos. They both had too much confidence in me...LOL. I was nervous. I wanted to make it perfect...perfect for the day...perfect for their guests...perfect for THEM. In the end all I really cared about was their happiness. They loved it,
and I breathed a BIG sigh of relief.

This is for you, my friends. Love you both.

Labor Day

Not off the grill, but out of the oven. This cake was alot of fun. The 2 "buns" are a 8 inch round butter cake. The "burger" is a huge brownie. The american cheese slices are fondant, and the rest of the condiments are colored buttercream. I used royal icing to pipe the "sesame seeds". The fries are sugar cookies. Yep, plain old sugar cookies that I rolled out and cut in strips using a pizza cutter. I sprinkled them with sugar before baking to look like salt. Mangia!

New blog...new look

Instead of limiting my blog to scrapbooking, I'm expanding it on all the things I love.
Baking
Family
Friends - and much more
not in that order :)
Since I've been unemployed, I'm keeping busy with my cakes, cookies and planning my wedding.
Yes, my wedding.
Never in a million years did I think I would ever do it again, but it's happened.
We found each other when neither one of us was looking. Fell in love. The rest is history.
Forever
and ever.
Wow.
